To Save A Democracy - Election Exhaustion

As I held the longest inhale of breath the moment the polls closed Tuesday November 3rd, 2020, and the states begun to be called for our next President, it dawned on me, my lungs were stronger than my thoughts of fear, at a possible outcome most dire to the republic for which we stand.  Hours ran into days. Days ran into nearly a week or what felt like eternity, but given the four years to this date, that eternity was welcome as long as an outcome was proclaimed.  And so it was, Saturday morning around 11 a.m est, as I nurse a stuffed nose from a slight cold, and the weight of the world seemingly on my psyche, breaking news - President Elect Joseph Bide and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris are the projected winners of the 2020 Presidential elections!

And . . . Exhale in exultation!

For liberals, progressives, moderates and conservatives alike, the country and the global community simultaneously poured out to the streets, rang bells, shot off fireworks, danced, sang and reveled in the history and joyous moment we just experienced with the final projection of this most tumultuous time in American history.

And so I rest this my first post, on sheer joy and relief that we may all find our way back to some sense of calm, normalcy and focus on taking hold of a pandemic raging out of control and saving as many lives as we can with the use of compassionate leadership and collective empowerment.

Stay tuned for next weeks posting recharging the anxiety to help Georgia secure our Senate in their upcoming double senate race runoff!

Be still my aging nerves. ✌
